This recording was sent to me only a few weeks ago (many thanks again!). It's an upgrade to the previously uploaded version and the definite one, since it's a transfer of the master DAT. Nice quality recording of an interesting show. June is absent, and John is urged to perform a great solo version of Jackson.

Notes:
Quality is excellent my guess, from having been to the venue several times, is that the taper was front row in the balcony given the clearness of all instruments and the lack of mass audience noise. There is a slight drop out after SHADOWTIME, probaly due to a tape flip. Same after LITTLE SISTER, taper being careful. Encore breaks after SILLY THING and ARABIAN KNIGHTS no music lost what so ever.

Notes:
One of the best audience recordings available from the Computer World tour. This one is likely to come from a very low-gen tape, if not straight from the master tape. It is also one of the very first bootlegs from the Computer World to be pressed on CD (early 1990s) and to feature a complete recording from that tour. This concert was the second of a two-night stand at the Hammersmith Odeon, even though these weren't the only Kraftwerk concerts in London during that tour as they also played at the Hammersmith Palais and Lyceum a few days before. There probably were a much larger audience in London eager to see Kraftwerk, but as back then they weren't likely to play in open air festivals or stadiums, they prefered scheduling more dates in smaller venues.

This Hammersmith Odeon concert was previously issued as a 3-LP set simply called 'Computerwelt' with artwork heavily based on the official studio album. It reportedly features - according to TwingoKraftwerk.com - a slightly better sound quality than the CD release, but as I've never particularly heard this vinyl recording, I cannot say if it was made from a different source.

Pretty enjoyable summer festival concert, with a very talklative Robert Smith. Usual setlist. Simon's bass sometimes out of tune, some feedback with the acoustic guitars... but a great feeling. This was actually the 6th concert of Perry Bamonte with The Cure, so you can hear some mistakes at the keyboards here and there, but nothing that can really annoying you.

Notes
The applause was a lot louder than the music so I have reduced the volume of the applause to enable me to amplify the music to a reasonable level. This is noticeable in a few places but I can live with that. The music is what's most important. I hope it does not spoil your listening experience.

First things first:
Wow, what a venue, absolutely beautiful and the entire staff (I mean entire) was very nice. We were seated front row just to the left of center stage. There was about 15 feet from us to the lip of the stage which was only about a foot high. The lead guitar is a little loud in the mix mostly because his amp was facing almost right at us.

note
The mighty Van Halen hits Roanoke, Virginia during the first two weeks of the 1984 tour! The setlist like most nights is pretty standard however the recording includes a radio ad which is nice. The show had quite a bit of hiss on it which I removed using Adobe Audition 3.0.
