note
This is a pretty good audience recording, considering it was taped in 1976. Very few recordings have surfaced from this period of Elton John's career, and with this band in particular. The Earl's Court DVD I uploaded recently was from May of this same year, and is the best recording I have found, but is only partial. This is the entire show, and includes Kiki Dee as a special guest (Bernie Taupin and Billie Jean King as well). She appears on the current single, at the time, "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", and her own hit "I Got the Music in Me". This show also includes the rarely played song "Empty Sky", as that album had just been released in the United States, six years after its initial release in England. This may be as good as we get from this period, until they start to empty EJ's vaults. Play this loud and imagine you are in the cheap seats at
MSG!
