Notes by the taper
I can't even imagine life without Neil Young! What an amazing experience again! Fantastic performance by the best there ever was! The crowd was enthusiastic and their applause was often monumental. I did much work knocking it down to a tolerable level, and much of the ill-timed claps by "late recognizers". I did have some problem a few times with the left channel, where a feint buzz would show up randomly. I took care of this by copying over the perfect right channel where needed. So is occasionally goes to mono, more in the first set toward the end. But this is still a very nice recording of a spectacular event!!

I'd describe this as an "enhanced single-cam".  95% of the footage is from my Canon.  I filled in some short gaps between song changes and memory card swaps with youtube footage, most of which was HD.  For past projects I used animated stills, but I think this looks a lot better.  Also it gave me a taste of multicam editing which I'd like to try in the future.  I believe this turned out better than Chicago which had some lighting problems that I had to adjust.  No such issues here,  Also, the crowd around me saw I was filming (outside rail, Edge's side) and gave me a TON of room to move around to different shots as needed.  I thought that was really cool.  I did have to contend with a couple people who thought it was ok to hold signs up and block people's views numerous times throughout the show.

This is a great Bryan Adams solo performance (with a piano player on most songs and bagpipes on Cuts Like A Knife). It is a very nice pro-shot from Canadian tv. It premiered on December 14, 2010. There have been other versions of this but I wanted to do it for myself and then decided I should share. Enjoy!

It's true stereo (unlike another mono version that circulates) and could be mistaken for pre-FM were it not for the very brief announcements in two places.

The only changes were reducing the speed - minus 3 percent (by comparing to other contemporaneous recordings), and editing in the last chord of The Good Thing, and synch-ing in the start of Take Me To The River as there was a small skip in the music files on that (not a CD-R fault). I synch-ed in the missing 2 seconds (! - 1 second of each) from the download version, doing a little careful mixing to ensure a smooth match. If I hadn't described this here you wouldn't know the joins were there.

track 10 softened mic bump at 4:36 and smoothed out abrupt stop (and/or pause button was hit) of recording during the encore applause and then started to record again before encore song. NO muisc was lost

Show & Source Notes:
This is the complete show. This is a continuous running recording of the entire show with all songs included. This verifies the songs played and the order the songs were played in. Also this setlist is confirmed in Levon Helm's book "This Wheel's On Fire".
The only time it seems the recording was stopped or paused was at the end of track 10 before the encore song durring the applause then started back up. This source is the best sounding undedited raw source around.

This is the only raw source of this show that is complete. The two that are the closest are
1) At Woodstock [Wilcock Records 2000] - sourced from three different sources, missing 2 songs and not in the correct order
2) At Woodstock [Home(r) Entertainment Network Germany HEN106 2004) - still missing one song

I thought i would bring this to light and share being that i have never seen this shared before and if it has i never seen this one that i have had for years shared. This was given to me from a special friend who is no longer with us and i am sure he would like to see more people enjoy this. He used to play this for me all the time and say life just seems simple when you here these guys play this music. He gave me two copies one to preserve and one to play all the time. This is an eac (sercure) from the cdr i never played. I know he was at this festival and had alot of good connections and this was lineage he gave me.

(DVDfull aud-shot)

01 - Atom Heart Mother
02 - Careful With That Axe Eugene
03 - A Saucerful Of Secrets

Run Time is 37min

This is a very unique piece of video that was filmed on a high grade, hand-held camera in a very obscure and long out of date format. The group that discovered and restored this footage had the equipment refurbished just to save the footage. This is the longest piece of live film of the 70's Pink Floyd, and it truly has as ambience of a live concert that no other existing film does (the Whitehead films from '72 for example). It features the last ever live performance of "Atom Heart Mother" ,in it's entirety, as well as full length versions of "Careful With That Axe Eugene" and "A Saucerful Of Secrets". Pink Floyd fans...relish this extraordinary film, and big ups to The PF Arch. Society for doing the entire world a big favor for making this happen, I'm constantly amazed at the fans who put their time and money into preserving this history.

Careful research revealed no released material. There is some live "John Lee Hooker and Friends" that was recorded at Sweetwater, but it was recorded the following year (apparently June 1, 1992). This John Lee Hooker set would NEVER be officially released because the stage lighting (or lack of it) was not done with video in mind. All of the other sets have good stage lighting but not that one. The BBC also did a documentary on The Sweetwater that included John Lee Hooker, but it's not from this show either.

Anyway, now that we got that out of the way, on to the rest of the info:

Village Music was a little record store in Mill Valley California and its owner, John Goddard, threw quite a few very interesting anniversary parties at the tiny nearby club, The Sweetwater. This is the video that exists from one of those parties. Excellent video and audio quality from 2 camera SVHS master and with audio mostly from Dat soundboard master.

The video is a bit dark for some of John Lee Hooker's set but the quality is still excellent because of the high quality cameras used and the fact that these DVDs are direct transfers from the SVHS masters.

Audio notes: The Nicky Hopkins solo 10 minute "mini-set" is a matrix mix of the Dat soundboard and the SVHS Hi-Fi audio, which itself was a live monophonic matrix of soundboard plus microphone. The rest of it has audio from just the Dat soundboard audio except for the first 1:34 of Robert Ward which is from the the SVHS Hi-Fi audio. The transitions are as seamless as possible but if you listen closely, you might hear some of the changes. Also, the Flac file torrents have a few later minor level adjustments that aren't in the DVD videos.

It should be noted that there are differences in the audio formats available in the DVD-5 and DVD-9 versions: The DVD-9 is the whole thing on one dual-layer disc with just 448K Dolby Digital audio. The DVD-5 version is two single-layer discs, and has a choice of 16/48K PCM or 192K Dolby Digital audio.

Finally, it should be noted that there was one more set of this show that apparently does not exist on video. It was Lee Allen with Steve Douglas, Albert Collins and other guests plus some solo Wayne Bennett at the end. (16/44 Flac files from that set's soundboard Dat master are being posted separately.)

here's a really nice recording of the band from one of richard manuel's last shows. they played a few nights at the lone star cafe in nyc and i had the pleasure of attending a couple nights. it was a blast seeing them in such a small venue. i didn't make the recording but got it directly from the guy that did. it's an excellent sb from the late show on feb. 6,1986. i understand that most of the shows from that week are around in similar quality but this is the only one i have. as a bonus, steve winwood, who was in town working on his own project, sits in on the last song but don't get too excited about that since you can barely tell he's there. i've seen this listed as feb. 8 but i'm going with the master source on this. as always, all info is in the file.

Unfortunately this is all I have. Maybe someone out there has the rest of the show. Many a Mile is cut about 5 minutes into the song. At the end of Empty Pages it sounds like Capaldi saying Chris Wood on Piano. I thought he only filled in on keyboards for the bass effect pedal and some extra organ, not soloing! I could be wrong 'tho and misheard it. This is some hiss present at the end of Freedom Rider. I don't know if that was present on the master or just the tape deteriorating before I got my copy. Enjoy the show, theklopeks

Without knowing anything about how the U2 online fan community works and how they would react we went ahead and did this project after getting a copy of the 4Reel Productions release of this show. That one was a fine release with two good cameras as seperate angles on the disc and a nice audio track. Why wasn't the 2 cams mixed we in RCR asked ourself? We quickly realized why cause it would look like shit since the counters didn't run the same numbers so a mix would be annoying to watch. In true RCR style we went ahead to fix this. The answer was to crop the video to 16:9 format to loose the counter. The audio remains intact and for the last few songs there is only one camera  used cause the second is useless due to problems with the stage light.

I still can't ever imagine life without Neil Young!! What an amazing experience back to back! Neil was very talkative and funny throughout the show, even in the face of "Mr & Mrs cinnamon Girl" which pissed him off enough to yell a hearty "Fuck You!!" in their direction. The audience was enthusiastic and loud, I did much work knocking the applause down to a very tolerable level, and wiped out ill-timed claps by "late recognizers".

The crowd around me was very respectful, and the Taping Gods were smiling indeed! The only editing done was decreasing the crowd noise between and during a couple songs, otherwise it's raw and pure and rivals any Schoeps recording I have ever heard!
