This is the soundboard recording of the Aero Indy '82 gig. People try to crap on this verion of band, with revisionist histories saying this tour was a flop and that the band had to play small clubs and theaters. That is simply not true - the majority of venues they played in 1982 and 1983 were large ones and they sold out many. It was the 1984 reunion tour with all the original members that played some smaller venues or undersold big ones. I'll never forget seeing Aero play the Oakland (indoor) coliseum in August 1984. The venue holds about 15,000 and not more than 2,000 people turned up. In comparsion when the Jimmy Crespo version of Aero played the same venue in January of 1983 it was virtually sold out. Of course that tour had the momentum of a new album and an MTV video. but I digress. Here we have a nice board of a "Rock In A Hard Place" show about a month into the tour. Sadly as this tour progressed the RIAHP tunes began to fall away one by one. "Bolivian Ragamuffin" and "Jailbait" were played at the first dates, but soon went away. By the 1983 spring gigs only "Lightning Strikes" was left. Here we still get "Jig is Up" which would soon vanish and the song "Rock In A Hard Place," which would last a little longer. The band is playing well here despite all the drugs/booze coursing through the veins oif various members "Has anyone seen my bottle" Tyler says before "Dream On."...But hey, that's rock and roll!
