"Unreleased a
lbum planned as follow-up to ?Hot Rocks? (1972). The project was cancelled due to disagreements between Andrew Oldham and Allen Klein about the eclectic track selection; which included controversial songs such as "Andrew's Blues" and "Pay Your Dues" (alternate version to "Street Fighting Man"). It was replaced with the more conservative double album "More Hot Rocks". Album was produced by Andrew Oldham. Digitally remastered 2002 from original vinyl source. A faithful reproduction of the prototype concept and recording. This record is the pre-curser to the "Black Box" concept that was revived in 1975, and would ultimately culminate into "Metamorphosis." A lot of thought was put into retrospective recordings by ABKCO in the early to mid-Seventies. Sound Quality - Excellent Studio Recordings. Some acetate surface noise heard at intros & outros. Upgraded clear stereo sound on many older outtakes that have surfaced over the years, such as Pay Your Dues."

This is not the VGP or the Mecca release. I've bought this - beautiful - digipack CD 2 or 3 years before the VGP version came out.

In preparation for their hugely anticipated headline performance at this year's Download Festival, Black Sabbath announced an intimate homecoming show at O2 Academy Birmingham. This was also a charity fund raiser for "Help For Heroes". The venue was packed with a sold out 3000 capacity crowd.

This was Black Sabbath's first performance in their hometown for 11 years — and their first concert since 2005. We had three-quarters of the legendary original lineup. Tommy Clufetos, a member of Ozzy's solo band, is filling in for Bill Ward, who is sitting out the group's reunion shows due to contractual disputes with his bandmates.

Tony looked well after his recent diagnosis with lymphoma - Ozzy proclaimed him "the Iron Man!"

Don't see a whole lot of Agent Provacateur tour audience recordings and i only have a few and this one is by far the best. Play It Loud! I was fortunate to see this tour a little over a month later in San Diego and actually got to meet them (except Lou who was not feeling well) at the meet and greet and all of them were very cool, i still have my autographed LP of Agent Provacateur.

For the Masterworks tour (June 20 - August 04 2000), Yes acceded to fan requests that they return to playing their "epic" compositions. This show captured from the soundboard was of the second date. In an early stage of the tour, it has been remarked that the performances of Yes were under-polished. However, such a critique misfires; For instance, Heart of the Sunrise and Ritual are gems. The audio quality of the recording is excellent. It consists of two CDs, and the tracks have been divided by CD volume, titled and numbered. Cover art has been included.

# Roger's keyboard must've been playing in this song as it was not present until near the end of the song.
@ Only the first few seconds of Lullaby were played before the broadcast shifted to another band.

The version of Bananafishbones is absolutely stellar. It would have been worth the price of admission..

Notes:
Van Halen returning to the venue where it recorded the famous 1981 videos. Pretty good show overall, seems like the band enjoys getting out there and playing. Roth's voice was a lot better than the last time I saw them in D.C., but is still a little funky. Roth's schtick is a bit odd throughout the night, from the weird stories, baton twirling, dogs, poses, etc; the dude has lost a few marbles along the way. But the band is tight and Eddie is great, right behind Jimi as the best ever. He did flub a few notes, most notably the intro to "Women in Love" but overall he is a marvel, still most exciting guitar player out there. Hard to miss him if he is in town especially with Roth at the mic with the classic material.
