Comments:
This recording captures the first of two nights in the cavernous Chicago Stadium, relatively late in their 1973 tour. For reasons outlined below, this is not exactly considered a high point of the tour, but it's one of relatively few soundboards (New Orleans is the only other one that comes to mind, though I'm sure there are more) to have circulated in its entirety over the last twenty years. The sound on this is relatively dull and flat, but the EVSD release represents an upgrade over prior versions of the show. This set also contains a new (at the time) audience source of the same show, but that is not included in this torrent.

Led Zeppelin fans know this tour inside and out, so it's probably not worth commenting on the performance other than to say it's consistent with the rest of the tour in terms of setlist, and probably a notch lower than many other dates in terms of performance.

Buzzcocks & Magazine - 1978-07-21 - Granada TV (DVDfull pro-shot)

(DVDfull pro-shot)

A 'What's On' special featuring Buzzcocks and Magazine, broadcast on Granada TV and presented by Tony Wilson. First (and only?) transmission date: July 27th, 1978.

I got this programme years ago as an mpg-file here on Dime. It appears to be a direct copy of the production master, complete with slates. I've created a DVD out of it using TMPGEnc. Here are the technical data as reported by G-Spot:

Audio: 48000Hz, 256 kb/s, stereo (2/0)
Video: 704x576, 25fps (4:3) PAL

The programme lasts nearly 40 minutes and consists mainly of Tony Wilson interviewing Pete Shelley and Howard Devoto, but there is also live footage of both bands shot at the Lesser Free Trade Hall in Manchester on July 21st, 1978.

Free - 1972-10-14 - Berkshire, UK (SBD/FLAC)

(Soundboard FLAC)

A great recording with the Heartbreaker (the last Free album) lineup, a show that Kossof did not miss due to his drug problems, unlike some others from this tour.
This has been circulating with the name "Revenge of the Heartbreaker".

Willie Nelson - 1974-10-17 - Austin, TX (DVDfull pro-shot)

Very nice color and sound, and a real collector's item for those of us who enjoy the ACL series, and/or Willie! The chapters had been set at something near to 5-minute intervals (another slacker product), so I used TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 to reset the chapter points to coincide with the tracks. This also had the effect of eliminating the substandard menu which came with the original copy.

Per Mjk5510:
"This is not from a TV broadcast but came directly from ACL, I suppose there may be a protection copy between the ACL Master copy and the VHS but I'm not sure. This is not the raw footage but does contain an intro "board" at the beginning. Video quality is excellent and the show is simply wonderful, great setlist with many songs Willie hasn't played in decades."

notes
The sound in the hall was quiet, requiring the record levels to be adjusted upward (and applause taken down a bit) to get to this, which I think is very listenable. The sound levels also reveal, ocasionally, a creaking seat in the vicinity - that's how quiet it was in the hall. Full marks then to the audience who were very respectful throughout.
