Comments: This time in Denmark and I had a great time there. But I'm even today a little bitter because I hade a very good ticket in front of the stage but because of brain damage (alcohol) and lack of information I stood a way back in the arena (mixer table). The recording is 3 pieces. First 20 minutes was recording to low (adjusted in the release)… second part (16 min) is from HP's recording in Landgraaf (fixed to fit the volume) two days before because of flickering fingers that put the internal mikes on. From “Wish you were here” it went well and the second disk I’m pleased with.

Transfered by me... (Stef)

The date is also listed as 1974-10-12 on the Rory timeline. However, the notes below point out this line up is also likely from 1975, not 1974, though there is no listing at etree for a 1975 show in Belgium. So...I kept the date originally as posted and matching what is at etree for now: 1974-10-21, unless someone can provide evidence of a more accurate date.

This one was circulated in the G-Man Rory Gallagher group by Barry if I remember well so thanks to Barry for this one;-)Actually there a was a remastered version first around but I prefer the raw version this is the reason I got one copy of the master tape and did the transfer myself. So this is the real thing, no cuts, no edits.. Hope you will enjoy!

I have taken a break from the cassette tapes to focus on my VHS tapes. Most (if not all) of these tapes have been recorded on various hifi stereo video recorders, some in single play, some in long play mode. I've used my most recent video recorder (Sony SLV-SE600) for playback and a stand-alone DVD-recorder (Sony RDR-HX780) to create DVDs. They have no menus and no chapters. If anyone feels compelled to re-author any of them - be my guest.

Notes:
At last I found a copy that is in sync! The band is pretty tight, but Ozzy's *singing* isn't the best.
All in all the best version of this show I could track down. A rip from a silver-pressed dvd on the Showtime label (who?) The audio still has a few hickups and some digital noise can be heard at times, but after watching it, it wasn't to annoying. Just adjust the settings on your audio equipment a bit :-) The video seems somewhat compressed too imho, but check the screenshots.

Here's the well-known Lust For Life special that was transmitted by the VPRO end 1986. This 43 mins special includes live material from Utrecht 1986 as well interviews with Iggy,
Ron (the Stooges) and some other/older bits & pieces here & there. Iggy is fun to be interviewed. All interviews were done by Marcel Vanthilt (ex-Arbeid Adelt, ex-MTV Europe VJ)

Some words borrowed from Sky.com:
The Stooges were performing punk even before it existed.
They might have had limited commercial success but they were one of the first to take up the two-to-three chord system that later became the mark of punk rockers the Sex Pistols and the Ramones. Later, despite poor sales, lead singer Iggy Pop’s solo albums would be cited as influences by the likes of Siouxsie and the Banshees and Nine Inch Nails.
During Iggy Pop: Lust For Life, filmed in 1986 during the release of Iggy Pop’s Blah Blah Blah album, the rocker credited with inventing the stage dive discusses the differences within The Stooges and how he was blown away by the electric blues of Chicago. In interviews, guitarist Ron Asheton, who sadly died in 2009, reveals how heroin broke up the band and his relationship with Iggy, a master showman who pushed the boundaries of performance with his onstage self-mutilation and nudity.

Here's one of them, up to now unsurfaced. He didnt tell me what gear he used for taping or transfering from masters to CD though. Hope you enjoy as I did.

notes:
Well, here we are with another Tears For Fears show from their 1990 tour. The (Feb. 12, 1990) Cleveland show that was uploaded in Dec. 2008 proved to be OVERWHELMINGLY popular, so despite the fact that I'm not a TFF fan, I asked Mexminute to share this great-sounding show with you as well.

The setlist is similar to the Cleveland show but this one also includes a handful of extra songs (the "Women Of Ireland" intro, "Pale Shelter", "When The Saints Go Marching In" and "The Hurting").

The venue for this particular show was then known as the Brendan Byrne Arena, though locals commonly referred to it as the "Meadowlands Arena". It later became known as the Continental Airlines arena before being renamed the Izod Center (its current name).

Editing notes:
* Re-tracked show (combined WAV files in Nero, then re-split with CD Wave)
* Using Nero's wave editor, added a small fade-out to Track 211 and a small fade-in to Track 12 (evidently the tape was stopped between these songs); also added a small fade-out to Track 109
* Adjusted volume with Nero's wave editor, as listed below

Volume adjustments:
The recording I received from Mexminute played at a very low volume, so I first increased Track 212 by +5dB and the rest of the show's volume by +7dB. Even after doing so, certain musical sections and almost all of the between-song speaking still played at a relatively low volume; to compensate for this, I made these additional volume adjustments:

Tracks 101-102: +3dB (entire track)
Track 103: +3dB (0:00-0:23), +1dB (0:23-4:32)
Track 104: +1dB (0:00-2:52)
Track 105: +5dB (4:54-end)
Track 106: +5dB (0:00-0:44), +1dB (0:44-5:18), +5dB (8:19-end)
Track 107: +5dB (0:00-0:51), +1dB (0:51-end)
Tracks 108-109: +1dB (entire track)

Track 201: +5dB (entire track)
Track 202: +5dB (0:00-2:24), +2dB (2:24-3:28), +5dB (3:28-end)
Track 203: +5dB (0:00-0:06), +4dB (0:06-0:12), +1dB (0:12-end)
Track 204: +1dB (entire track)
Track 205: +1dB (0:00-9:56), +3dB (9:56-end)
Track 206: +3dB (0:00-2:26), +5dB (2:26-end)
Track 207: +5dB (0:00-0:49), +1dB (0:49-end)
Track 208: +3dB (0:00-0:51), +1dB (0:51-end)
Track 209: +1dB (0:00-0:40 and 4:02-end)
Track 210: +1dB (entire track)
Track 211: +1dB (0:00-1:42)
Track 212: No additional volume adjustments

Note #1: I decided to create a separate track for the intro to "Famous Last Words" since it's fairly lengthy (about two minutes long).

Note #2: Unlike the 2/12/90 Cleveland show, the encore break after "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" is absent from Mexminute's version of this recording (I suspect the tape must have been paused/stopped during the encore break)
