notes by the trader
Finally, after months in the making here it is.
Originally I thugh in anme this compilation "The Swedish Rising Force Years" since on the Eclipse and Fire & Ice eras the band members were (for the first time) all swedish, but i dropped that name was after including the Burn live clip from Budokan '94 show because on the Seventh Sign era line up only Yngwie and Mats Olausson were swedish. For the Lyon '90 tracks i corrected the aspect ratio of the original video, and now is on proper 4:3. The Sony Music TV Budokan Special was an special presentation for the japanese TV promoting the Fire & Ice album, so that's the sole reason for wich only live tracks of that album were broadcasted (i bet that the whole show were recorded). The video is from a S-Video transfer (i'm not sure if it was recorded through S-Video, maybe through composite video actually or sourced from a 2nd S-VHS tape, but the quality is too good for being a composite video transfer, that's for sure). Also, the original recording have an audio delay wich i corrected. Very special thanks to Crawford King for get and send me the Burn live clip from the original WOWOW TV broadcast, wich was excluded from the official "Live At Budokan" release of the very same concert. Now you can see that rare piece in all his glory. The Unrelased Promo are the videos also excluded from the official Malmsteen's video relases, despite having 2 collections featuring his video clips (The Collection from 1991 and Video Clips from 1999).

notes
Another excellent show from the Japanese leg of the 1983 World Tour. I have checked the setlist with the Santanamigos website and again it would appear to be complete. The show was broadcast on NHK Television on an unknown date. I am not certain as to the exact broadcast source (i.e. radio or tv), but the quality is outstanding. This recording is taken from the Japanese boot 'Tokyo Tales' on the 'Masterport' label and is CDDA sourced.

I'm uploading this to commemorate Rage's big return this weekend also at the Coachella Festival: April 29th, 2007. It's been a long-ass time coming, I'm waiting on them to te-e-e-e-ear that shit up! Big, big ups to the original taper, WHEREVER you may be! Big ups also to my good buddy Paul "Duby" Dubczuk for the artwork as it is on the menu. Bad-ass shit if I've ever seen anything.

The Pink Floyd Story: Which One's Pink? (BBC1) takes that Live8 gig in Hyde Park as a starting point, then goes back, way back, to a time when they had hair, heaps of it, and a frontman who had a special kind of star quality and charisma. There was no room for any of that in the Floyd though, and Syd Barrett fell by the wayside, an acid casualty, lost to a permanent lapse of reason. The others were left to twiddle and bang away and experiment until they stumbled upon their phenomenally successful sound.

This is a terrific documentary, chiefly for one reason: it is the Pink Floyd story told by, guess who ... Pink Floyd! Bob Geldof also comes on to deliver his shouty opinion, but mainly it comes from the horses' mouths (Roger Waters actually looks more and more like a horse as he gets on). Not together, of course, that would have been too much to ask for - a huge outdoor stage in London is one thing, a room is quite different. But they address their differences, and their guilt and grief over Barrett. They are honest and thoughtful, a bit shy (except for Waters who clearly has an ego as long as his face). Sure, there is a smugness there, as there is in their music. It's certainly not hard to empathise with Johnny Rotten and his famous "I hate Pink Floyd" T-shirt. But to wear one, in honesty, would be hard.

Finally, the Kiss Yahoo! webcat, presented by Live Nation. It was tough to get a complete constant quality and smooth version but i get it. During Lick It Up there was a little gap that was filled with another webcast recording and then back to the normal and since that point I sycnh it with a better audio stream. The quality it's not the ebst but very watchable, hope you enjy it, as well as the bonus.

A very enjoyable show definitely. All tracks are sourced from the BBC Radio 1 broadcast of the event Except for track 7 which is the MTV Interview by JJ Jackson and is a lower quality than the rest. There is some distortion on the drum intro to Rock And Roll only for about 5 seconds, mainly due to link up problems.Recorded on an Hitachi SR 4010 Radio Reciever with Hitachi D-35s Tape Deck. The audio quality is crystal clear.

On 13 July 1985, Page, Plant and Jones reunited for the Live Aid concert at JFK Stadium, Philadelphia, playing a short set featuring drummers Tony Thompson and Phil Collins and bassist Paul Martinez. Collins had contributed to Plant's first two solo albums while Martinez was a member of Plant's group Band of Joy. The performance was marred by the lack of rehearsal with the two drummers, Page's struggles with an out-of-tune guitar, poorly functioning monitors, and by Plant's hoarse voice.Page described the performance as "pretty shambolic", while Plant characterised it as an "atrocity". The hype for performance was billed as a Led Zeppelin reunion by many reproters ,radio DJ's and TV. Introduced on stage as Robert Plant,Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones by Phil Collins, interviewed after as Led Zeppelin. This should have been for Philadelphia what Queen were for London, sadly it wasn't, only 90 minutes rehearsal or something (Jimmy Page(without Phil Collins. They faced criticism when it was revealed they refused permission for their performance to be included on the DVD, which will raise money for Sudan. The members have issued a statement saying the reason was because it had been a "sub-standard" performance.
